Visiting Associate Prof of Biomaterials, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan. Programme Director for the UCL MSc in Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine (www.ucl.ac.uk/nanomed) and Graduate Tutor, Division of Surgery, UCL.
My research group is interested in understanding why implants fail and in creating new materials that can better direct desirable (regenerative) responses. Current project areas are: 1) bone and osteochondral tissue engineering; 2) HIF-mimicking materials; 3) bioactive glasses; 4) breast and orthopaedic implant failure; 5) nanoparticle-biological interactions.
