My current research focuses on the effects of extracellular nucleotides on vascular calcification. More specifically, I am interested in how these compounds modulate the transdifferentiation of primary vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) to an osteoblast-like phenotype.  Other recent interests include investigating the effects of hypothermia and antidiabetics on the formation and function of primary osteoblasts and osteoclasts.
