Dr Stefaan Verbruggen is a Lecturer in Medical Technology at Queen Mary University of London and a Principal Investigator at the Insigneo Institute for in silico Medicine at University of Sheffield. Dr Verbruggen’s research focuses on the mechanobiology of musculoskeletal and metastatic cancer cells. Prior to his appointment, Dr Verbruggen conducted his PhD research in bone cell mechanobiology the Biomechanics Research Centre at the National University of Ireland Galway, followed by postdoctoral research in how fetal movements affect joint development in the Developmental Biomechanics Lab at Imperial College London. Most recently, Stefaan completed a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship at Columbia University in New York.
